Deliver and Receive the Right information at the Right time

We are now living in an information Explosion and big data society. The issue of getting the right information and then delivery to the right people at the right time to engage them to make the decision is becoming a challenge for business and individual person.

I would like to explore my views from two major points.

Personalized Intranet - the future workplace

Lots of people are talking about collaboration in workplace currently. I have been seen lots of popular Intranet Websites provided great platform for enterprise internal socialization and collaboration. However, I think they are missing a great feature in Intranet for employee - personalisation.

Have you seen people entry every information including events, news, social feeds and blogs onto Intranet Home page at work? Actually it makes people felt annoying and hard to follow the relevant information, and so there is need to enhance the existing Corporate Intranet to be a personalisation and easy to use platform. The key is deliver the right information to the right people at the right time.

Can you image that people see the social feeds, news, events, blogs and colleague contacts are relevant to their work and with the common corporate information in the Intranet Home page? Image that people can easily see the latest personalized training information are match their demands and needs in Intranet. These approaches improve the workplace productivity greatly.

I had been interviewed and surveyed some employee and knowledge worker from small business and global company to confirm that personalized information is the key of efficiency in workplace.

In additional, people normally receives email when someone mention them or reply to their posts in Social feeds. As people don’t always check emails and Intranet at work, and so the desktop Alert can remind people in real time when message comes in. The below section describes the interactive Notification.    

Delivery the Interactive Personalized Notification Message

Interactive Notification and the recently launched Facebook Chatbots provide a personalized and interactive way (marketing channel) to engage the employee and customer to keep in touch with the business. It also helps the business to delivery information which get noticed immediately by the customer.

According to market research "Grow Your Business by Using Push Notifications Effectively" by Rahul Varshneya, the push notification is becoming a popular marketing tool to engage the consumer. In addition,  Push notifications that contain personalized content, such as user names with just-in-time relevant information has the more higher open rate than generic messages.

However, frequently sending push notification to customer would cause nosing, and so delivery the notification at the right time could be challenge too.
