A real time Notification App to engage the business promotion with customer in a personalized, cost effective and interactive way

Today’s reality is that the average person is:
  • Bombarded with hundreds of emails 
  • Time-poor has not got the time to read emailed advertising materials
As a business marketer, your  email promotional activity needs to produce positive results. Your online promotional strategies need to break through the cyber-clutter to become more profitable and more successful.

This is why I come up with an App idea to engage the business promotion with customer in a more personalized, cost effective and interactive way by using interactive notification message and Facebook chat-bots. Below are the screenshot of notification message on desktop and chat-bots.

I worked with Madhan K from Qantas in "AngelHack Sydney 2016" event recently to make a Notification App provides subscription services to customers to subscribe and receive the push notification of latest promotion from a most popular business around the customer area based on the real time number of Optus mobile users on there. The app sends interactive rich content notification messaging across all user's devices including desktop and mobile. Also it leverages Facebook Messenger Chat-Bots for further conversational communication.





The App will keep sending notification message when customer change the location. The business needs to submit their promotion information in our Web site too.

According to market research "Grow Your Business by Using Push Notifications Effectively" by Rahul Varshneya, the push notification is becoming a popular marketing tool to engage the consumer. In addition, Push notifications that contain personalized content, such as user names with just-in-time relevant information has the more higher open rate than generic messages. Also it's more cost effectively while compare with SMS text message.

SharePoint 2013 error - "Application error when access /_vti_bin/client.svc"

I had been received a error message " Application error when access /_vti_bin/client.svc, Error=Path '/_vti_bin/client.svc/ProcessQuery' is forbidden " when try to add user account to a user group in SharePoint 2013 Portal . I searched the issue in google and found out it may related to security issue in local folder  "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\ISAPI" of " /_vti_bin/client.svc ". I verified the user permission on this folder and found out that "IUSR" for IIS is not there, and so I granted user account "IUSR" read and execute permission in this folder. Enable the Microsoft Power BI report file type (.pbix) in SharePoint Search

By default, the Microsoft Power BI report file (.pbix) is not in the list of file type in SharePoint 2013 search configuration in Central Admin, and so you wouldn't open the Power BI file directly by clicking the link from the search result page. However, it's easy to add this file type by following configuration. Open “Central Admin” site, and then go to "Manage service applications”->”Search Service Application XX” (use the actual name of the “Search Service Application” in your site). Click on the “File Type” in left side navigation. Click the New File Type button and type PBIX (no period needed) in the File extension box and click OK. Restart the Search Service: Go to local “services”, stop the SharePoint Server Search service and start it again.
